In Focus

A stranger asked me why I love photography. A deep question relative to its simplicity. I have two answers.

First of all, when someone is drawn to my work, it means they like how I see the world. This bonds us in such an immediate, unique way.

On another layer, I experienced multiple tragic and sudden loses as a young adult. I had loved photography before then, but these losses caused me to appreciate life in a way I could not have fathomed before. As far as we know, we are only here once. I want to experience the beauty of this life, and capturing it via my camera allows me to be fully present in these fleeting moments that I will never get back. Through this art form, I get to share these frames from my mind with anyone who cares to take a look.

My style is perfect for those who treasure spontaneous smiles and vibrant energy as opposed to highly curated shots. You just be yourself, enjoy the moment, and I’ll be there to share a different perspective of it.

I am so grateful to make a living doing what I love. I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy and have my own practice. In addition to my time behind the lens, I spend my days feeling like I’m doing exactly what I’m meant to in this life. I love to move in and out of the water, adventure at home and abroad, and spend time with those I love, preferably over a delicious meal.
